Tanks will require pumping as a result of sludge and scum accumulation exceeding 30pc of the tank volume. Or if the sludge is encroaching on the inlet and outlet baffle entrances, according to the EPA.
We recommend periodic pumping oftanks to make ensure the system works properly and to reduce the risk of hydraulic failure.
Your tank is to be de-sludged a minimum of once every year. Also in cases where the tank is at, or near, its design load capacity it will need to be done more. Remember to take into account the capacity of the tank and the number of people using the tank.
